The South Eugene High School neighborhood is located in central Eugene. It is bordered to the North by the West University, to the west by Friendly Street, to the South by Amazon and to the east by South University. This neighborhood has a high density of parks, bike paths and trails, making it a great neighborhood for many families. South Eugene Sports Park has public fields, baseball and softball diamonds and sand volleyball courts. Adidas Amazon trail is one of the most popular places to run in Eugene, and was used by University of Oregon legend Steve Prefontaine. The Civic Center, home of the Eugene Emeralds, is only one block away from South Eugene High School, so it is easy for residents of the area to go support the Ems. Shopping and dining opportunities can be found on Willamette Street, just south of Civic Stadium.
The South Eugene neighborhood is in close proximity to both downtown Eugene and the University. Public transportation from this area is made easy at the South Eugene High School bus terminal. This area is part of the 4j school district and students usually attend Roosevelt Middle School and South Eugene High School.
