Downtown
As the name suggests, neighborhoods in the Downtown district are close to all the action. Downtown Eugene is located in the center of the city and is very close to the University of Oregon. It is mainly a commercial area, with some residential areas intertwined. Downtown Eugene offers restaurants, shopping, entertainment and more. Also, government offices for the city of Eugene are located in the Downtown district. Highlights of the downtown area include the 5th Street Market which offers a wide variety of shopping and fine dining experiences, and Alton Baker Park, a beautiful city park with an amphitheater, duck pond and lots of space to play. McDonald Theater hosts concerts and events and is always a great place to have a good time. A bike path and the Lane Transit District main station make getting to and from downtown very easy.
